Traditional Japanese House

Have you ever visit any Japanese house before? If so, it might not be a traditional one.
This is a special offer to those of you who have never visited Japanese houses, a visit to my parents’ house in Yatsushiro where I grew up until I was 23 years old.

We have a interesting and very different structure of the interior with both of Shinto altar and Buddhist altar settled next to each other in the house. This custom is quite common for ordinary Japanese families particularly living in the countryside. But not many of who live in big cities such as Tokyo, Osaka or Nagoya have this custom anymore due to change of lifestyle.

In the following photos you can find my parents who are farmers. Maybe you can see them working during the visit or they might welcome you in the house.
